Creating Your Account

Set up your account to start analyzing jobs and building your personalized application materials.

Why You Need an Account

Your account does a few important things:

• Get access to our AI so you can analyze LinkedIn job postings
• Save your master resume to be used in the job analysis and for creating customized resumes
• Connect your Google Drive to save all customized resumes, cover letters and interview preps
• Store your analyzed jobs so you can review & track them as well as generate materials later

Step 1: Register from the Extension

The easiest way to create your account:

1. Install the Chrome extension first (if you haven't already)
2. Click the extension icon in your toolbar
3. Click Sign in to navigate to the RESUMIXX web site and to sign up

This will open the registration page in a new tab.

Step 2: Fill Out Your Information

Keep it simple - you just need:

• Email address - Use one you check regularly
• Full name - This appears in cover letters and other generated documents
• Secure password - Standard password requirements

Step 3: Confirm Your Email

After registering:

1. Check your email (including spam/promotions folders)
2. Click the confirmation link in the email you receive
3. You'll be redirected back and automatically signed in

Step 4: Connect Google Drive (Important)

This step is crucial for accurate job analysis:

1. Navigate to the Integrations page
2. Click "Connect Google Drive" and go through Google's authorization
3. Click the "Select Folder" button to tell the app where to save your custom resumes, cover letters and interview prep documents

Step 5: Provide your key job searching information

1. Paste in your full LinkedIn profile URL (optional but HIGHLY recommended) - this well help the AI to provide more insightful feedback
2. Paste our resume in the edit box - this is your resume in Markdown format. Read the instructions on the Integrations page to find out how you can produce that using common word processing apps. You only have to do this once!

Step 6: Use the app

Once your account is set up, Google Drive is connected, you provided your LinkedIn profile URL and master resume, you are ready to explore the magic of RESUMIXX:

• Job analysis - See how well you match specific LinkedIn jobs
• Cover letter generation - Create personalized letters for each application
• Interview preparation - Get likely questions and talking points
• Resume suggestions - Recommendations for improving your resume

Step 7: Test Everything

To make sure your setup worked:

1. Go to a LinkedIn job posting (one that interests you)
2. Look for the "RESUMIXX floating button" on the page
3. Click it and watch the analysis process
4. Review the compatibility score and the AI's recommendations

If you feel this job is worth exploring further, then click the Save button to add it to your dashboard.

Understanding Your Dashboard

Your web dashboard (separate from the extension) shows:

• All analyzed jobs with compatibility scores
• Your AI usage
• Generated documents stats (cover letters, interview prep)

You can access it anytime through the extension or directly via the web app.

Your Trial Count

Since trial credits are limited and only last for up to 30 days:

• Analyze jobs you actually want - Don't waste credits on idle curiosity
• Try different types of roles - See how your background fits various opportunities
• Generate real materials - Test cover letter and interview prep features
• Use the dashboard - Get familiar with tracking and organizing your job search

Common Setup Issues

Extension Still Says "Not Logged In"

• Clear your browser cache for the app's domain
• Log out and back in through the web dashboard
• Make sure you completed email verification before trying the extension

Privacy and Data

What we store:

• Your email and basic profile information
• Your resume content (to provide compatibility analysis)
• Your LinkedIn profile URL (optional)
• Job analyses you choose to save

What we don't store:

• Your LinkedIn login or password
• Your full LinkedIn profile or activity
• Job postings you viewed but didn't analyze
• Any browsing data outside of our extension

NOTE: All generated documents are saved on your google drive not on in our database.
